Code Review & Audit

An honest technical review of your app

Before you raise funding, switch agencies, scale your team or plan a major release, it helps to know what you are really working with. Our code review and audit gives you an independent view of your codebase: how it is structured, where the risks are, and what it would take to improve it. We look at architecture, security, performance, dependencies, tests and the release pipeline, then report our findings in plain language with clear priorities, not a wall of linter output.

What we deliver

Architecture review

An assessment of structure, separation of concerns and how easily the code can grow with new features.

Security review

Checks on authentication, data storage, API exposure, secrets handling and common mobile and web vulnerabilities.

Performance and stability

A look at crash data, slow screens, memory use and network patterns that affect user experience.

Dependency and build health

Outdated or abandoned libraries, build reproducibility, CI setup and store account access.

Prioritised findings report

Issues ranked by severity and effort, with recommended fixes and a suggested order of work.

How we approach it

Independent and candid

We report what we find, good and bad, without pressure to sell a rewrite.

Business context first

Findings are weighed against your goals, so a startup preparing to scale gets different priorities than a stable app in maintenance.

Actionable output

Every finding comes with a concrete recommendation your team, or ours, can act on immediately.

How we work

  1. 01

    Discovery

A short call to understand your goals, users and constraints. You get a clear scope, timeline and estimate.

  2. 02

    Design

User flows and high-fidelity screens that follow Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines — reviewed together before a line of code.

  3. 03

    Build

Iterative development in Swift and SwiftUI with regular TestFlight builds, so you can try the app on your own iPhone as it grows.

  4. 04

    Launch

App Store assets, submission and review handled end to end. Your app goes live under your own developer account.

  5. 05

    Support

Bug fixes, iOS version updates and new features after launch — based on real user feedback and analytics.

Questions

How do you report audit findings?

You receive a written report with an executive summary for non-technical stakeholders and a detailed section for developers. Each finding has a severity, an explanation, affected areas and a recommended fix. We also walk through the report with you on a call.

What access do you need for a code audit?

Read access to the repositories, a working build or the steps to produce one, and ideally access to crash reporting and analytics. Store console access is helpful but optional.

Is a code audit useful before buying or investing in an app?

Yes. A technical review is a sensible part of due diligence. It shows whether the product can be maintained and extended, and highlights risks that could affect cost or timelines.

Will you tell us if the app needs a full rewrite?

Only if the evidence supports it. In most cases targeted refactoring is cheaper and safer than a rewrite, and we explain the trade-offs either way.
