Node.js backends and APIs for mobile and web apps
Node.js is a strong fit for backends that serve mobile and web apps: it handles many concurrent connections well, it is good at real-time features, and it lets one TypeScript codebase share types with a React or React Native frontend. Our team builds Node.js APIs with clear module boundaries, input validation and logging from the start, so the backend behind your app is predictable to run and easy for your next developer to understand.
What we deliver
REST and GraphQL APIs
Typed, documented endpoints with validation, pagination and versioning, designed around the screens your apps actually need.
Authentication and accounts
Email, Apple and Google sign-in, session or token handling, roles and permissions, and account deletion flows required by the app stores.
Real-time features
WebSockets or server-sent events for chat, live status, notifications and collaborative features.
Payments and webhooks
Stripe, App Store and Google Play subscription webhooks, processed reliably with retries and an audit trail.
Jobs and integrations
Queues and scheduled jobs for emails, reports and third-party syncs, so slow work never blocks a user request.
How we approach it
When Node.js is the right call
Choose Node.js for API-heavy products, real-time features and teams already working in TypeScript. For heavy data processing or machine learning, Python is usually the better fit, and the two can live side by side.
Boring infrastructure on purpose
We favour proven frameworks such as NestJS or Fastify, PostgreSQL and well-understood hosting, so your backend is easy to hire for and cheap to operate.
Trade-offs stated upfront
Node.js is single-threaded per process, so CPU-intensive tasks need to move to workers or another service. We plan for that early rather than discover it under load.

How we work
- 01
Discovery
A short call to understand your goals, users and constraints. You get a clear scope, timeline and estimate.
- 02
Design
User flows and high-fidelity screens that follow Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines — reviewed together before a line of code.
- 03
Build
Iterative development in Swift and SwiftUI with regular TestFlight builds, so you can try the app on your own iPhone as it grows.
- 04
Launch
App Store assets, submission and review handled end to end. Your app goes live under your own developer account.
- 05
Support
Bug fixes, iOS version updates and new features after launch — based on real user feedback and analytics.
Questions
Node.js or Python for our backend?
Node.js is a great default for APIs, real-time features and teams using TypeScript on the frontend. Python is stronger for data processing and AI work. Many products use Node.js for the main API and Python for a separate AI or data service.
Should we use Firebase instead of a custom Node.js backend?
Firebase or Supabase can be faster for an MVP with simple data rules. A custom backend makes sense when you have complex business logic, integrations or need to avoid lock-in. We often start with a managed service and add Node.js where it is needed.
Can you work on our existing Express or NestJS codebase?
Yes. We start by reviewing structure, dependencies and security, then fix the highest-risk issues before adding new features.
How do you handle App Store and Google Play subscription events?
We process server notifications from both stores in the backend, verify them, and keep a single subscription status per user, so access is correct across devices and platforms.
